The Artemis Center for Healing & Growth is a unique counseling center in San Pedro, CA designed to meet the needs of trauma survivors and their families. The Artemis Center is a team including a Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist and Marriage & Family Therapist Interns highly in trauma intervention. We often utilize a family approach to meet the needs of each family member impacted by the trauma. Individuals seeking counseling are typically dealing with trauma-related issues such as post traumatic stress (PTSD), grief, anxiety, depression, life adjustment to trauma, job and marital problems, child behavior problems, and addictions. The Artemis Center is a tranquil outpatient counseling center in which techniques such as Mindfulness, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (ACT), Somatic Integrative Body Psychotherapy, Eco Therapy & Pet Assisted Therapy are utilized to restore and heal the body and mind.
Artemis Tegan, M.A., MFT
Artemis Tegan-Herrold is a licensed Marriage & Family Therapist. Artemis earned her Masters Degree in Clinical Psychology from Antioch University, LA in 2001. Artemis served as Board President of the Long Beach-South Bay Chapter of the CA Association of Marriage & Family Therapists from 2008-2009. Artemis has been working in the counseling field for 16 years. Her specialty is reducing symptoms associated with trauma, including depression, anxiety, marital problems, relationship problems and addiction issues. Artemis works with children, adolescents and adults in individual, group and family therapy using stragegies tailored to meet the needs of each client. Artemis is trained in EMDR and utilizes a variety of techniques, including mindfulness & cognitive-behavioral therapy. In 2011. Artemis was awarded the Supervisor of Year Award for her outstanding leadership in supervising MFT Interns. Artemis has also served as an embedded therapist for the CA National Guard in a Behavioral Health Pilot Program from 2006-2008. Artemis is a guest lecturer on Trauma and Mindfulness. In addition, Artemis provides one to one consultation designed to help new therapists to launch their private practice. Currently, Artemis is completing work on her first book entitled I'm a Hero: A Trauma Recovery Workbook for Children.
